What's the Story? at the Powerhouse
Odd Mondays, join Stacie Chaiken and her brave band of wandering
story sleuths for an evening of solo works-in-progress from wonderfully
varied writer-performers, with their own idiosyncratic voices. What's
the Story? Bold Brazen Bawdy Bad features writers from the What's the
Story? workshop. The patio opens at 7 for drinks and a nosh, and the
90-minute show begins promptly at 8.
About What's the Story? workshops
What's the Story? is an ongoing Solo Performance Workshop, taught by
Stacie Chaiken
It's is an opportunity to develop solo work within a group process,
with a devoted and talented bunch of writer-performers, and to try
things out in front of a friendly audience on a regular basis. Every
six weeks, students meet privately with Stacie for an intensive look at
what is being created.
This class is useful for actors who want to create solo work
(autobiographical or not); writers who are wrestling with
autobiographical or historical material; and story-telling artists
(filmmakers; songwriters; poets; directors) who want to bring greater
depth and immediacy to their work, whatever it may be.
