What's the Story?
What's the Story? is an ongoing Solo Performance Workshop, taught by Stacie
Chaiken is an opportunity to develop solo work within a group process, with a
devoted and talented bunch of writer-performers, and to try things out in front
of a friendly audience on a regular basis. Every six weeks, students meet
privately with Stacie for an intensive look at what is being created.
This class is useful for actors who want to create solo work
(autobiographical or not); writers who are wrestling with autobiographical or
historical material; and story-telling artists (filmmakers; songwriters; poets;
directors) who want to bring greater depth and immediacy to their work, whatever
it may be. For more information, call 310-392-9186.
Shakespeare Santa Monica

Monica, joining the other great cities in the world that provide free theatre to
its residents, surrounding communities and visitors, to Develop an annual company, comprised of aspiring student artists and
professional actors unified by their commitment to lifelong training in the
classics, and to educate and enrich through the medium of Shakespeare. Every summer we will
present the magic of Shakespeare in every conceivable environment- from tennis
courts to the beach, from the Miles Playhouse and Main Street to a playground at
Clover Park. We believe Shakespeare is most successful when it becomes a part of
the fabric of our community. Accessibility will ensure that future generations
have the opportunity to experience the poetry, power and timelessness of
Shakespeare’s theatrical work. More information can be found at www.shakespearesantamonica.com
